The Technolytics Institute (Technolytics) was established in 2000 as an independent executive think tank. Our primary purpose is to undertake original research and develop substantive points of view on strategic issues facing executives in businesses and industry around the world. Our strategic goals focus on improving business performance, creating sustainable competitive advantage, delivering innovation and technology, and managing security and risk.
Technolytics help guide business executives, industry leaders and government policy makers in shaping the economic, regulatory and risk environment of tomorrow. One of the Hallmarks of our service offering is our security and risk scenario planning. Our approach is called Trans-disciplinary Intelligence Engineering (TIE). This approach has been used to develop scenarios for Homeland Security, Corporate Event Planning, Corporate Espionage and Security and for other entities. This technique has been applied to strategic planning, product strategy, competitive strategy and marketing strategy as well as security and risk management.
Our technology framework methodology is based upon 1997 Malcolm Baldrige strategic planning and reporting guidelines. We believe these guidelines (as implemented in the Technolytics models and tools) represent some of the best strategy and management models available anywhere in the world. The knowledge repository, benchmark data, and best practices used to create these Technolytics models have evolved from detailed research and analysis and are updated regularly to reflect changes in the global market.
Practitioners in our Business and Commerce Center work side by side with management to identify strategic issues, innovate solutions, refine ideas, and create a strategic decision frame of reference. Our strength comes from the ability to understand things from a broader perspective. We only accept engagements where we have unique knowledge and insight that can be leveraged to define the future direction and strategic drivers relevant to the issue.
Our experience indicates that a client turns to us for many reasons. Here are the top ten.
| 1. | The required resource or skill base is not available within the organization and there is no justification for introducing a permanent position(s) |
| 2. | Immediate daily pressures affecting current business performance take so much management effort that there is little or no time to devote to potential opportunities that could underpin the company's future. |
| 3. | Technolytics’ consultants are not deviated by immediate daily pressures and can remain focused on the project. |
| 4. | Technolytics’ consultants will stand back from the company and objectively assess its standing within the market place and its future prospects. |
| 5. | Technolytics’ consultants are trained to quickly assimilate the key business issues based on their experience with other companies. |
| 6. | Technolytics’ consultants can cross-pollinate good practice from other industries or markets. |
| 7. | There is no need to experiment with the organization and lose time, effort and credibility when these consultants can employ proven methodologies. |
| 8. | Customers, employees, and suppliers are often far more willing to be frank with an independent consultant than with company managers. |
| 9. | Technolytics’ consultants know where to obtain appropriate additional resources on a contracted basis when required. |
| 10. | Technolytics’ consultants can act as a sounding board and advisors especially over sensitive issues. It can seem like a very lonely job at the top and the consultant will soon become a trusted confidant and friend. |
In all of our work we strive for the highest levels of quality, objectivity, and innovation -- hallmarks that have earned us a prominent reputation with our clients. In order to ensure the highest quality in our work products and maximize the value to our clients, every project is reviewed and approved by a Certified Professional Consultant to Management. The CPCM Seal signifies the highest professional standard within our profession and is granted and administered through the National Bureau of Certified Consultants. Our commitment to these standards will continue to define our work into the future.

A second hallmark of our service offering is our methodology. ASCERTAIN is a full- function enterprise methodology that supports organizational analysis, business process design and systems development. The nine phases of ASCERTAIN are identified below:
- Assess
- Specify
- Create
- Evaluate
- Reengineer
- Train
- Alter
- Implement
- Nurture
As the team progresses through this model we explore the many components of the enterprise. We use the acronym PROMISE to describe these enterprise components. PROMISE stands for:
- Process & Procedures
- Roles & Responsibilities
- Organization & Operations
- Management & Measures
- Information & Infrastructure
- Systems and Software
- Employee Relations & Education
Formal methodologies for analysis and design for organizational change and technology based systems have been available for almost twenty years. Despite this, there are few that create a framework that allows all aspects of the change process to be fully integrated with the development of new programs and systems. Difficulties are often experienced in fitting the techniques together and particularly in moving forward rapidly to design and implement these initiatives.ASCERTAIN and PROMISE combine as a framework to overcome these issues and allow an organization to rapidly address strategic change.
- Methodology: A collection of techniques for building models - applied across the development of a software system.
- Framework: A process that supports the design, development, implementation and support of projects, initiatives, systems and technology.
ASCERTAIN is a process driven approach. Every PROMISE component should be defined and the definition followed (with sufficient allowance for flexibility within a proper structure and continuous improvement). Some of the benefits of using the ASCERTAIN and PROMISE frameworks are:
- Reduced Risk of Project or Program Failure
- Increased Efficiency/Productivity
- Completeness of the Program
- Improved Quality
- Improved Reporting
- Improved Communications
The result of this process is a plan and approach that can help ensure that the company’s strategy can be turned into actions and accountabilities. It is critical to note that our methodology supports and has integrated Six Sigma and Six Sigma Lean into the cohesive ASCERTAIN framework. This allows organizations to leverage the power and unique attributes and benefits of all three methodologies

We have assigned a Certified Professional Consultant to Management (CPCM) as the lead person for all work we provide. This professional designation was created in 1989 by the National Bureau of Professional Management Consultants (NBPMC) to certify qualified management consultants. This designation recognizes individuals in the consulting professional who have the highest character, education, experience, competence, and ethics.
What Are The Criteria? Every CPCM must:
- Have a degree from a recognized college or university.
- Have at least 5 years of full-time consulting experience.
- Review of 5 client references who are contacted to verify the consultant's competence and ethics.
- Be interviewed by NBPMC Selection Committee to verify their character, experience, and education.
When choosing a consultant, you want someone you can trust. Someone who has the knowledge, skills and experience to accomplish what you need.
The problem is that anyone can call themselves a consultant. You could get a part-timer, a recently downsized corporate type, a moonlighting professor with no real-world experience, or someone else not qualified.
With a CPCM, you know you are getting an experienced professional who has demonstrated their knowledge and skills over an extended period. You will get a consultant with the experience, competence, and trustworthiness you need.
You can count on a CPCM to:
- Only accept assignments for which they are qualified.
- Turn down assignments if there is a conflict of interest.
- Only accept assignments if they can potentially benefit the client.
- Be truthful and forthright with clients while maintaining objectivity
- Maintain client confidentially.
Look for the CPCM or CMC Seal. This indicates a level or professionalism that is achieved by less than 1% of management consultants globally.
